Comparison of the design between MacBook Pro and MacBook Air 13

Regarding the design, the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models come with an all-aluminum appearance. Both have space gray and silver choices whereas the MacBook Air is also released with a gold option. If you do not choose this color, the two devices look rather the same.

Both devices have Retina displays with a resolution of 1560 x 1600, which means 227 pixels per inch. In spite of the fact that they are identical on the front side, the brightness levels between the two models are really different. The display on the MacBook Air is decent but it does not reach as bright as the MacBook Pro. It can only deal with a total brightness of 389 units, even though this is more effective than the previous option, it still encounters lags in comparison with the MacBook Pro’s 500 units. The color accuracy is designed with high levels but the MacBook Pro is still a more ideal choice for photographers and graphic designers.

The 2020 MacBook Air is still remained with the annoying butterfly keyboard while the keyboard switch has been introduced on the 16-inch MacBook Pro and the 13-inch option. The large and clickable trackpad on both models is ideal to select text, drag windows and use multitouch gestures. The build quality is still perfect, which is a big plus for Apple.

In addition, both the Air and the Pro models come with Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports. These ports need to handle a lot of different tasks, such as charging and high-speed data transfer. On the Air laptop, there are two on the left side so that you need to buy USB-C hubs if you want to connect more. The 13-inch MacBook Pro offers either two or four, according to the CPU.

Both laptops also have 720p webcams, stereo speakers and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. If sound is what you prioritize, the MacBook Pro is a more suitable choice for you with its high dynamic range. The MacBook Air comes with additional microphones for Siri to pick up your voice easily.
